A Disco Ball on My Nails!

I should really get the "lazy blogger" award.  I have no issue trying to find time to read other blogs, paint my nails, paint my friends' nails, take pictures (not as soon as I should, but before they get too chipped), and upload pictures...but somewhere along the way I lose the drive to actually post the pictures here.  So maybe a good idea would be to save a bunch of draft and periodically post them.  I dunno! But onto my disco ball from the vault...

OPI "Nail Envy" nail growth stimulater
free handed french tips using Wet n' Wild "French White"
konad bow using m59 in special polish in black
2 coats of Pure Ice "Oh Baby!"
2 coats of Wet n' Wild "Kaleidoscope"
and a topcoat, can't remember what though

In this one my nails are short (they're much longer now, since this was taken a month ago, gasp!), and my hands were really dry.  Thank goodness the weather has warmed up much since!  As much as I love this bow in other blogger's konadicures, I can't really say that I like it on myself.  My nails are too narrow and curved, so the image is distorted :P Perhaps it would look better on my thumb.

Oh, and I really adore glitter (made much easier with the foil removal trick).  See how it sparkles?

If I Were...

I know that no one on blogger has read my blog yet (cuz I have no followers...but you have to start somewhere!).  And I didn't really get tagged for this, but I saw it on MakeupByCrystalS, and thought it was so beautiful, I just had to do it myself!

If I were a month, I’d be June.
If I were a day of the week, I’d be Sunday.
If I were a time of day, I’d be sunrise.
If I were a planet, I’d be Venus.
If I were a sea animal, I’d be a dolphin.

If I were a direction, I’d be East.
If I were a piece of furniture, I’d be a vintage mirror.
If I were a liquid, I’d be pineapple juice.
If I were a gemstone, I’d be Amethyst.
If I were a tree, I’d be a Weeping Willow.

If I were a tool, I’d be a hand.
If I were a flower, I’d be a Shasta Daisy.
If I were a kind of weather, I’d be the morning after the storm.
If I were a musical instrument, I’d be a triangle.

If I were a color, I’d be teal.
If I were an emotion, I’d be a small happiness.
If I were a fruit, I’d be a strawberry.
If I were a sound, I’d be a ballet shoe whispering across the floor.
If I were a pair of shoes, I’d be a pair of high tops.

If I were a car, I’d be a Honda Civic Coupe.
If I were a food, I’d be a pork egg roll.
If I were a place, I’d be a gravel road.
If I were a material, I’d be chiffon.
If I were a taste, I’d be naturally sweet.
If I were an object, I’d be a book.

If I were a body part, I’d be the iris.
If I were a scent, I’d be vanilla.
If I were a facial expression, I’d be a hint of a smile.
If I were an element, I’d be
hydrogen.
If I were a song, I’d be "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None the Richer.

Konad m51

Here's my first konad post!  Before I go further, let me explain how I first got hooked on konad...

So I was looking through xsparkage's videos on youtube, and ran across one with "konad" in the title, which I didn't recognize.  I clicked, got pointed to scrangie, and well, the rest is a happy history!
My inspiration came from Polish and Powder.  I used two coats of Wet n Wild in "Caribbean Frost" and stamped the flowers with plate m51in Wet n Wild "French White".  I topped it off with two coats of Pure Ice "Oh Baby!".  I was disappointed in how the flowers transferred, a little transparent, but the gorgeous base makes up for that.

My photography skills are slowly improving.  I still struggle with blurry images, but hey, this is much improved from my last post!

My Nails...Naked

Homework vs. blogosphere...hmm...I think it's obvious who won!

So here are my nails, minus any polish, basecoat, ect.  Feel self conscious about your own nails?  No one is perfect (ok, there's a few exceptions, Scrangie comes to mind for me).  I had an unfortunate encounter with a car door when I was younger, leaving my right hand middle finger not very aesthetic.  Pretty much, the nail grows crooked and the nuckle cuticle are weird shaped.  Hence all pictures will be taken of my left hand.

Now here's my good hand...

We can only change what we've been given to some extent.  Short fingers, fat fingers, crooked fingers...don't let them come between you and nail art (similar to the relationship to body shape and personal style).  Go for it!
